EARLY PRESCHOOL
EASY WINDOW GARDEN
Learning Value:
Creating an easy window garden demonstrates an understanding of cause and
effect. It also encourages children to see how things grow.
Materials Needed:
- Water
- Spray bottle
- Vegetable Seeds
- Zip lock bag
- Tape
Intended for:
Adult and child interaction
Directions:
- Wet the paper towel with water. Squeeze off any
excess water - Place seeds onto the wet paper towel and fold in
half - Place it into the zip lock bag
- Tape the zip lock bag onto a sunny window
Keep a close eye on the bag. Take it down every
now and then and spray the paper towel with
water to keep it damp. - The seeds should start to sprout and you can
watch as the seeds grow. - Always ask questions. Which variety is sprouting
quicker? What do their roots look like?
