EARLY PRESCHOOL

EASY WINDOW GARDEN

Learning Value:
Creating an easy window garden  demonstrates an understanding of cause and
effect. It also encourages children to see how things grow.

Materials Needed:

  • Water
  • Spray bottle
  • Vegetable Seeds
  • Zip lock bag
  • Tape

Intended for:
Adult and child interaction

Directions:

  1. Wet the paper towel with water. Squeeze off any
    excess water
  2. Place seeds onto the wet paper towel and fold in
    half
  3. Place it into the zip lock bag
  4. Tape the zip lock bag onto a sunny window
    Keep a close eye on the bag. Take it down every
    now and then and spray the paper towel with
    water to keep it damp.
  5. The seeds should start to sprout and you can
    watch as the seeds grow.
  6. Always ask questions. Which variety is sprouting
    quicker? What do their roots look like?
